INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS
Medical Services you can trust
Your Visit
Bandera Family Medical Group is currently accepting new patients. For your first appointment, please bring your medical records, or request that your previous provider send them to us. Please be sure to bring immunization records for you and/or your children when you come for your first appointment. Appointments are encouraged to reduce the wait time and provide you the best service. They also assure that all patients have adequate time with the medical providers. We may be able to accommodate you on a walk-in basis, keep in mind that you may have a longer wait time or may be referred to the Acute Care Clinic. If you are running late or need to cancel an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can make the appropriate adjustments to the schedule.
Before Your Visit
If it’s your first visit, the provider will want to review your medical records, medication lists, test results and films (X-rays) to understand your prior medical history and avoid unnecessary testing. When you make your appointment, ask the appointment secretary for a request
During Your Visit:
You will meet with a nurse who will ask for the information needed before you are seen by a provider, a doctor, a physician assistant (PA) or a nurse practitioner (NP). You may need additional testing, such as blood work or imaging (X-rays, scans, etc.), to help your doctor better understand your condition and decide on the best treatment for you. If it’s your first visit, the provider will review your records, ask you about your medical history, perform a physical exam and talk to you about the best plan for your treatment and care. At Bandera Family Medical Group, our specialty is you. We have an all-inclusive and well-rounded approach to medical care; therefore, you may spend several hours at the clinic the day of your appointment. How long you are here depends on your schedule and specific healthcare needs, such as any tests or consultations you may need. Please plan ahead and bring your medications and anything else you may need for the day. Although most appointments are completed within a day, you may need to return to the clinic for other appointments if you need additional testing or procedures to treat your condition.
After Your Visit:
Your follow-up care will be determined based on your individual needs. You will receive information about how to contact us if you have any questions or concerns after you leave our clinic. We look forward to seeing you. If you have any questions prior to your visit, feel free to contact us.
